Genesis Consulting Group and our team member firms (McCallum Sweeney Consulting; Miley Gallo & Associates, Inc.; ACDS, LLC; and Maxim Communications Group) was assembled to assist the Economic Development Partnership (EDP) and other regional stakeholders with the preparation of the textile recovery plan for the Savannah River Basin (with an emphasis on Graniteville, SC). Our team understands the historically significant role the textile industry has played in this 10-county region (and throughout the State) and the current challenges facing the industry due to global outsourcing and other trends in the general manufacturing industry, as well as the acute negative impact that the tragic 2005 Graniteville train derailment has had on both the Town and the region.
The Genesis Consulting Group team will leverage its industry-leading strengths and expertise in order to develop traditional and non-traditional strategies that have the best chance for revitalizing the economy of this important region. Our analysis, stakeholder involvement/visioning, development planning, industry targeting, and implementation/marketing services will effectively:
- Analyze the area’s unique attributes, infrastructure, and opportunities to identify the full range of economic development initiatives and alternatives that will reverse current negative economic trends in the region’s textile sector.
- Establish realistic, “real world” economic goals for Graniteville and the 10-county region, yet develop “outside-of-the-box” projects that effectively bring new capital investment; create jobs in desired sectors/industries; stimulate sustainable economic growth; expand the local tax base; and increase per capita wealth within the impacted communities.
Our team is partnering with EDP and the region’s diverse stakeholders to perform comprehensive analyses, build on previous successful initiatives, facilitate ongoing and open communication, and provide complete, effective strategies to meet current and future economic challenges.
